Summary
From my earliest days, Julian Finch and I were inseparable. He was even closer to me than my own brothers. The adults would chuckle, calling me his little shadow. Yet, the moment Father hinted at an arranged betrothal between our two families, Julian began to avoid me. Every time I sought him out, he would claim he was unavailable.
It wasn't until my elder brother, Arthur, brought me to find him, that I overheard his conversation with a friend:
"Lady Eleanor Hastings is as dull as a stone, hardly fit to be a Finch bride."
