Summary
My name is Elena Wood. I’m a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon with a PhD and eight years of grueling experience under my belt.
Because of a bout of acute gastroenteritis that forced me into a seven-minute bathroom break, I was reported to the hospital board by a unanimous petition from my own patients.
The day my formal disciplinary notice arrived, Arthur Miller—a patient I had personally saved with a complex quadruple bypass—was leading a celebration in the patient support group on Facebook.
"Finally, we got that irresponsible doctor out of here!" he posted.
