Summary
My father was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, but around town, people just called him lucky.
Whenever the executives gathered over scotch at the club, the sentiment was always the same: “Richard Hayes has never had to bleed for a single dime. When he was young, his old man carried him. When he married, he got a powerhouse wife who built an empire. Even his boy turned out brilliant. The man was born on third base and never had to run.”
Until the day we buried my grandfather.
