Summary
During a business trip, because I couldn't stand the $50 per night Motel booked by the company, I chose to pay out of pocket to stay in a $1,000 per night luxury hotel.
Next morning meeting, my female supervisor rolled her eyes at me.
"Staying in a $1,000 hotel for a business trip, why don't you die of luxury?"
I was too lazy to argue with her, explained.
"Helen, I'm prone to allergies, that's why I paid for a better hotel myself. Besides, this trip I negotiated a $10 Million business order for the company, didn't delay work."
