Summary
Gideon and I had hit the divorce attorney’s office seven times, infamous as Boston’s most volatile couple. After our seventh split, I met a friend at a lounge where his drunken taunts floated over from a nearby booth. He bragged I’d beg to remarry within a month, his friends roaring as someone recorded it. Swirling his drink, he sneered that I couldn’t survive without him.
