Summary
I am a weeping wish willow born in human skin, an ancient entity sustained entirely by the dark, intoxicating rot of human greed.
Back when street corners were ruled by bleached-blond runaways in scuffed leather jackets, I padded barefoot under a concrete overpass and held out two slender green branches to a pair of teenage drifters hiding in the shadows.
""Tell me what you want,"" I offered, my voice small and sweet. ""Let me draw just one breath of your desire, and I will give you anything you wish for.""
