Summary
The industrial motor started smoking, so I grabbed my tools and rushed over. Before I could reach it, the production supervisor stopped me.
“Did you fill out the emergency repair form?”
I gritted my teeth and filled out the paperwork. When I went to shut off the power, the safety officer stopped me.
“Did you complete the shutdown risk assessment?”
I told him the equipment was about to burn out. Then, I called my apprentice and had him pick up the replacement parts so we could start the emergency repair.
