Summary
The year my parents divorced, they sat on either side of me and held me close to comfort me. “Don’t be scared, Charlotte. We both still love you just as much. Most kids have one home. You’ll have two.”
The first time around, I chose to live with my mother, who had more money.
However, after she remarried and had my little sister, she began forgetting to pick me up from school. Then, she forgot my birthday. Eventually, she even forgot I had asthma.
In that timeline, I died alone in a practice room at the music school.
It took three days for a cleaner to find my body.
