Summary
The autumn of my freshman year of college, a man dragged me into a rain-slicked alley behind campus, tore away my dignity, and severed my internal organs so severely that I was left dependent on a medical drainage bag for the rest of my life.
My mother died in that same alley, stabbed through the chest trying to shield me.
In the five years that followed, my father spent every waking hour gathering evidence and filing petitions until the monster was locked behind bars. My fiancé, Brett, relocated us to a quiet neighborhood to start over, never leaving my side for a single day.
