They Saved Him, Not Me

Summary

I've decided to leave the country.

I'm done competing with the son my parents raised in my place. I'm done begging them to love me.

But the parents who always favored him are suddenly panicking.

"Bennett, why don't you fight with your brother for our attention anymore?"

A week ago, an earthquake hit while we were on vacation.

Dad scooped up the son they'd raised, still fast asleep, and ran for the exit.

Even as Mom fled in a panic, she didn't forget to grab the stray dog he'd brought home.
