Summary
My mom keeps a notebook. She started the first one on the day she married my dad, Roger Kimball, and by now there are five and a half of them.
I flip through one and find the handwriting neat and precise. Every entry reads like a lab report.
"March 12, sunny. Roger hasn't washed his coffee mug in three days. I reminded him three times. Conclusion: Men shouldn't be coddled."
"May 7, overcast. The laundry has been on the line for a week, and Roger walks right past it every time without bringing it in. Conclusion: He can't be counted on."
