One thing that really bugs me is that Paltalk ignores the the Linux users. For example Android uses parts of Linux like the software stack. The Like of Apple Mac and ios are both BSD based Are very much like Unix. So making a single app for Linux should be to hard and a .DEB file would be fine with me.

The problem with trying to use wine or something like bottles is their essentially just A program that sandboxes Windows apps and some will crash and Some ran for any good length of time will hangup or even crash.

I know Admin and I would like to see a Linux app be developed I hope other would to. I’m sure the Linux community would help in development of Paltalk. I know the Pop!_OS Team has voiced the opinion about this through a email and even let Paltalk team know they would feature Paltalk in Pop!_OS app store.

Paltalk needs to make a version for Linux and I think for click and install like a windows exe file for Linux it should be a “.deb” files. With the likes of gnome 44 it’s getting so easy to use Linux.

A friend of mine his mother is in her late 70’s was having trouble with Windows and was calling him up 3 to 4 times a week with problems. so he decided to install ZorinOZ on her system he said now she might call him twice a week. Most things you see on youtube like the terminal is not needed for the average person there just tinkers who want to learn to be more advanced.

Also the end of life for Windows 10 is coming on fast and a alternative for paltalk would be nice. My computer supports Windows 11 so I’m speaking for others who can’t get windows 11 and Linux is so much fun to use.

Dang just tried Fedora Cinnamon. They have done a great job with it. Going to give it a few weeks and if I still like it I’m sold on it. https://spins.fedoraproject.org/prerelease

If you turn your old laptop in to a server/media server you can close the lid with this command sudo nano /etc/systemd/logind.conf HandleLidSwitch=ignore

Best way to fix the is to download bcuninstaller it’s free https://www.bcuninstaller.com/ and uninstall Paltalk.

Only do this next step if you know what your doing it’s at your own risk. go to search type regedit run as admin then go to the top of the regedit screen and go to edit go to find and type in Paltalk delete the entries that say Paltalk and click find next and keep deleting till there all gone.

Remember to always make a System restore and or back up of your system incase you come across a problem.

Fedora 38 will get gnome 44. I like the way the developers of Fedora implemented gnome 42 in Fedora 37. Cinnamon Desktop that is.
