New frums theme sux

Honestly, it’s hard to read (for me) and not to the point at all. Too much spacing and low text contrast.
IMO forums should be functional, that mean easy to read and search.
Old forum was close to be perfect, why change it?
Since I have no option to choose different theme I depend on the default one.

@chike – Its the opposite for me. The old forum was hard to read and it sucked. Im sure its still a work in progress though.

In what way was the old forum hard to read? If I can read something, everyone can. And qhy didn’t you simply quote me? 😆

A forum is not a painting on the wall that needs to be pretty, it needs to be functional.
If I can’t read it, reply with quotes, add quotes, edit, or moderate it, than it’s not functional.
If you want to do changes, start with something that is good (old forum) and make it better.

Im sorry dear sir…the forum style is back like it was and I hope you’re happy 🙁

    Thanx for the tip auto!

  3. Well I thought the theme looked good, Maybe a better option would be to have multiple themes and let the user select what theme he/she wants to use, This could be handy for the “visually impaird” users like chike.

That’s what normally happens with old age….

  6. Oh realy I guess there are no young people that are visually impaird.
Would you buy a newspaper printed in light blue on white, or dark gray on black? No need to answer.

  7. In defense of myself, who edited the theme, I couldnt believe that in 2013, there still existed a site that looked like it came from the 90’s. Now..I apologize if you guys don’t like the change but as a freelance web designer, I could only conclude that the only reason the site was as ugly as it was – was because the owner of the site had no web design experience. This was my conclusion and upon further investigation I found it to be true. Thus, I offered to help bring a more updated look.

@Chike – I’ve made the forum 960px as it was before. Aside from that, I don’t see any problem with a more modern, relevant design. If the colors are a problem, I’d be happy to change the font colors.

As a newbie to this forum, I certainly have no place to make decisions about style, but as I said before, I offered to help. If I had to vote, I’d obviously vote to keep this as the default layout because there is absolutely no reason to want to stick to something that was out of date, only for the sake of being used to it.

Im sorry if I upset anyone..i’m just a girl who likes pretty things 🙁

You can always go back to the outdated look. Its only a matter of deleting the stylesheet. However, I don’t recommend it.

  8. I think the Style was awesome, but honestly our front page is beautiful and not need to change! But the only change I suggest is that in future we could use WP so we can have an complete WP integrated board where everything is inside one package!

Right now our frontpage, download page and ofcourse the forum are all 3 different pages.

I understand the forum ofcourse, but I am only thinking in future our Frontpage could be easier to integrate in ONE PACKAGE, and later find a good WP to PHPBB3 Bridge! There are many WP Integrations/Bridges between wp and PHPBB3! And I am pretty sure that we will find a good one later!

But so far, I am satisfied and love the one we already have!

We just gonna have two styles than the old one and maybe another one for the user to change in case they want it, that way everyone is happy

Why you made 3 styles then?
