After My Girlfriend Ran Off Three Times for Her First Love, I Married Someone Else—Then She Begged Me to Reconcile

Chapter 4

The moment Mia walked in and saw the empty living room, she froze.

She broke free from Lucas’s arms and walked straight up to me, demanding,

“Ethan, what the hell are you trying to do? Haven’t you caused enough trouble at the wedding banquet?”

“Now you’re messing up the house like this too. Do you even want to keep living together?”

Lucas also stood nearby and put on a fake, pitiful look as he said,

“Didn’t Mia already tell you? Those three weddings were just tests.”

“Sorry, sorry, it’s my fault. I shouldn’t have cared so much about Mia!”

With one mouthful, Lucas shifted all the blame onto me again, and I became the unreasonable sinner.

I looked at the two of them, both of them acting so superior, and said with a smile,

“So after you two left the venue, I was supposed to beg the two of you to forgive me?”

“So I get my wedding stolen, get cursed at by you, and then go apologize to you afterward?”

Mia didn’t catch the sarcasm in my words. She even nodded as if satisfied.

“If you begged me like that, I might still keep going with you.”

She looked me over from head to toe and continued,

“But the way you are now, there’s no way I’m staying with you!”

“I’m telling you, Ethan, we’re getting a divorce tomorrow!”

Mia was using divorce to threaten me again. Every time before, I had compromised for love whenever she said that word.

But not this time.

Lucas saw that I wasn’t budging and chimed in from the side.

“I told you this guy wasn’t marriage material. He’s not just spineless and hot-tempered, he’s also a total chauvinist.”

“Why can’t he even apologize to his own wife?”

Hearing that, I suddenly laughed.

If Mia really were my wife, and I had truly done something wrong, then no matter what she asked, I could apologize.

I’d even fought a wild dog for food. What else would I ever be afraid to do?

But the two of them had just come back from a hotel, and Mia’s face was still flushed with that post-hookup glow.

How was she qualified to call herself my wife?

I had been through three weddings, each one stolen by Lucas, while the girlfriend who kept promising me she would marry me, Mia, had agreed to his wedding theft three times in a row.

And now she wanted to turn around and say the problem was me, and even wanted me to apologize.

I really had no idea how these two people’s brains were wired.

I stared straight at Mia and said, “You want me to apologize, right? Fine!”

“Tell me, where did you go these past two days if you weren’t home?”

The instant Mia heard that, cold sweat broke out on her forehead.

She knew full well that the reason she could live such a carefree life was because of my money.

Without me, she was nothing.

She said to me with false bravado, “I just went back to my parents’ place. So what? You made me angry, and I can’t go back home?”

“And only Lucas cared enough to come check on me. Did you ever care about me?”

Even now she was still lying to me, still trying to use love to blackmail me.

I looked at her, took out my phone, and shoved it right in her face.

“Then take a look at what you actually did yourself!”

“The hotel booking info was sent straight to my phone. You still dare lie to me?”

She snatched my phone and smashed it onto the floor, then kept going without a care.

“What hotel? I don’t know!”

“I’m telling you, Ethan, if you start comforting me now, I might still forgive you!”

“And even if you’re leaving, you still have to leave the bride price and the house behind. That’s my compensation for lost youth!”

Compensation for lost youth?

Since the day she got together with me, she had never spent a single cent of her own.

Now this wedding worth over a million dollars had been ruined just because of a few words from Lucas, and she still wanted to demand money from me!

I pulled out the divorce agreement I had already prepared from my bag and threw it in front of Mia, then laughed coldly.

“This is the compensation I’m giving you!”

“Bitch and dog, may you stay together forever. I wish you both happiness!”
