His First Love Was My Long-Lost Sister

Chapter 1

The day my husband's first love returned to the country, I rushed to pack my bags and run.

But my husband pressed down on my suitcase. "Where are you going so late?"

"Celeste is back. I should step aside."

Before he could respond, my Father-in-law, Mr.Bob and mother-in-law, Ms.Bella were already upset.

"Nonsense!" Mr.Bob, grabbed my suitcase and dragged it back inside.

Ms.Bella took my hand and comforted me. "The Morrison family only recognizes you as our daughter-in-law."

My husband hugged me tightly with an amused expression. "Silly girl, I forgot about her long ago. Now I only love you."

But I calmly wrote down how Celeste would frame me after her return:

1. Mock me for being just a substitute

2. Spill red wine on herself at the banquet and accuse me

3. Fall down the stairs and frame me for it

Mr.Bob and Ms.Bella gasped. Ms.Bella immediately sent the list to her assistant:

"Starting tomorrow, everyone in the estate wears a body camera!"

My husband looked at the last item and laughed:

"Don't worry, she's a good person. She would never hurt you."

Until Celeste White saw me for the first time:

"So this is Scarlett? She does look quite like me. Landon, you've done well for yourself these past few years~"

The moment Celeste's words fell, Mr.Bob, Ms.Bella, and Landon all froze.

I helplessly spread my hands, silently conveying with my eyes: "See? I told you so."

However, unexpectedly, Celeste's tone shifted. She walked forward with a beaming smile and gently took my hand:

"Scarlett, don't misunderstand. I mean, Landon is blessed to marry such a beautiful wife as you. You two are well-matched."

Her tone was sincere, her gaze warm, leaving me momentarily dazed. This white moonlight wasn't following the script?

Landon gently wrapped his arm around my waist and whispered in my ear:

"See, I told you you were overthinking. Celeste is a good person. She won't make things difficult for you."

Mr.Bob and Ms.Bella also breathed a sigh of relief. Ms.Bella patted the back of my hand:

"Scarlett, you're just too sensitive. Relax. The Morrison family only recognizes you as our daughter-in-law."

Halfway through the banquet, I excused myself to the restroom, wanting to clear my head.

Just as I reached the hallway, I ran into Landon's junior colleague, Miranda Smith.

She'd always been hostile toward me, and now she didn't bother hiding the mockery in her eyes.

"Oh, if it isn't our substitute wife?"

She leaned against the wall, looking at me with contempt. "Now that the real deal is back, how do you still have the nerve to stay here? If it were me, I'd have packed my bags and left long ago."

I gave her a cold glance:

"You're so concerned about whether I stay or go—could it be you're jealous I married Landon?"

Miranda's face instantly flushed red. She ground her teeth:

"You! Fine, Scarlett Hayes, just you wait!"

Halfway through the banquet, I held a wine glass and headed toward the terrace for some fresh air.

Just as I passed near the buffet table, Celeste stood with her back to me, exchanging pleasantries with several elders.

I was about to walk around her when suddenly a strong force came from behind—someone had shoved me hard!

"Ah!" I cried out. My body lurched forward uncontrollably, and the red wine in my hand arced through the air, landing squarely on the chest of Celeste's expensive white evening gown, instantly spreading into a large, glaring stain.

The scene froze.

Celeste looked down at her ruined chest, her face deathly pale.

The surrounding guests all turned to look, whispering among themselves.

"Scarlett!"

Miranda's shrill voice immediately rang out. She quickly stepped forward, her face full of perfectly calibrated shock and anger.

"Even if you're jealous of Celeste, you can't deliberately spill wine on her in public! This is too much!"

I stumbled a step and steadied myself, immediately understanding this was Miranda's clumsy trick—the person who'd pushed me was clearly her!
