My nominal uncle's first love took her own life the day I returned home.

My family blamed me, every single one of them, except for Damon.

Damon lit a cigarette, his gaze icy as he watched me. "Stop pretending. Serena suffered a thousand times more than you did back then."

I died from a massive hemorrhage.

When I opened my eyes again, I was eighteen years old, standing at the grand entrance of the Hayes mansion.
