I dont do the “.net” thing, but Id read somewhre that some of the earlier versions had functions to convert vb6 code to .net. Could vs2008 have the same option somewhere? and if so, Id be anxious to know how well that worked.

autopilo’s How To: Creating Software Integrations Part1 is for VB 2005 express which is .NET.

With the VB 2005 express all you need to do is just open a VB6 project and it asks you if you want to convert it. I’ve tried to convert AdminBot92VBScr that was posted here once, it did not compile after the conversion.

I being reading bout how to convert and they confuse me more then they help me lol 🙂 at the end all of them say it best to start the code from scratch or do the integrgration thingy I think thas wha Auto means 🙂

ah so it be best to start from scratch, and all I need to do is send text and retrieve text from paltalk and it be on

Typically, there are some things that do not convert correctly and you must fix or rewrite them. While the upgrade/convertor is nice… it is not always the best code…

I would recommend starting with some simple programs (just do one thing) and then move to more complex. Just as with starting to learn to program, you start with “Hello World”…

If a program is worth writing, it is worth writing again 🙂

maybe i will have to move to VB 2008 Express

Admin your proberly better reading about vs2008’s new functions rather than converting your current project, Because I would think they would have better inbuilt function that run alot faster than your current code. Why use vs2008 if your not going to use its features? if your only using vs2008 to convert your projects your better sticking with vb6.

I don’t support or participate in software piracy.
