Camping is one of the main activities of the YMCA. Like many other YMCA programs, camping is about learning skills, developing character and making friends. But not all environments are as special as camps where kids become a community and they are given a chance to learn how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group as they engage in physical, social and educational activities. Self reliance, a love for nature and outdoors, development of attitudes and practices that help to build character and leadership etc are developed at the camps. Besides it also offers the fun of camp fires, bugle calls, canoeing, archery, talent shows and meaningful relationships. The YMCA counselors make sure that the camp is an amazing experience for every camper.

Overnight camps at the YMCA run from a few days to a few weeks at scenic outdoor areas that span from New Hampshire to Hawaii. A wide variety of outdoor adventures are offered at the camp programs. They are led by trained and experienced leaders who guide children and teenagers to have an unforgettable experience. Besides new and fun activities, one can hope to build skills and great new friends and character values for life.

The Day camp, like traditional camp, offers new experiences, skill building, a sense of community and lasting friendships. It runs in rural and urban settings and the campers are allowed to return home each afternoon. The day camps are offered mainly for elementary children and are also sometimes offered for pre-schoolers and teens.

Specialty camps focus on particular programming like teen adventure, music, sports specialties and farm experiences.
