Loco…MusicBot can’t grab the mic….they must have done something different. very weird…not sure what is going on…..

I am connected to room, room post works…but they must have changed something…

    OK…I been playing a bit….so..I found a few things…

The ability to set the “default” status of differnet functions….or default variables for instance…..when a random song plays…being able to put in the default value for User ID and Message….etc….

    I tried the URL generator….it didn’t work, I couldn’t create or login…I must be missing something…

The ability to see who requested a tune, in the tune window, and be able to delete it. Can I also have an optin to play tunes only if the person is in the room (unless an admin)

of course…all features it would be nice if you could designate all admins/Super admins/Owner etc….I would like my Super admins to be able to control higher level functions…but let the admins handle day/in day/out features like starting and stopping…monitoring the request queue, skipping songs etc…but not be able to change greeting options…add/remove other admins…edit music so on….

Can admins upload (add) tunes (that would be cool to allow admins to add songs? Please explain….

The ability for an admin to upload (using Paltalk file upload) a tune to be added to juke….put into the music folder and availible with !find.

Also, is it possible to generate an HTML song listing that I can then cut and paste into a HTML website…I use that function from Loco’s bot to generate my song list when I then host on Google sites….it is a manual process (not expecting full automation here) but as long as the file is uploaded (even if it would wait for my approval) that would be great. Also, the concept of a Super Admin…someone that has privs to do things like possible upload files, add remove admins…etc…so that not every admin can do that…or the ability for that Super Admin to see what other admins are doing and approve/deny it…

    Thank you.

    I will be checking this out…thank you….

Only thing missing for me is an announcer….and the ability to list a URL to a web page for song lists….

Also can this be turned on and off (grab and drop mic)….the way we use it is to have it in room and activated when no one else wanted to DJ….it doesn’t run all the time…also, while active it would be nice to have the announcer post a message while the bot is active (meaning on mic) and a different message while the bot is not on mic.

Really, Loco’s music bot has all the features needed…can admins upload (add) tunes (that would be cool to allow admins to add songs

it would also be nice to allow roomies to whisper the bot…like the !find command and such, so it doesn’t flood the room….then it only needs to keep track of who whispered it, and to whisper back.

    I see a lot of potential…8-)

    There might be, I don’t do a lot of torrents…good luck! 😎

Also look into CodeWeavers Crossover product…for those in the *nix world…it is the commercial version of W.I.N.E which lets you run some Windows apps without installing Windows. Last I checked…SOME of Paltalk worked…Office works well…as well as other programs…and games.

Yeah, Xcode lets you do a bunch of coding, as well as free Java based compilers too….but Applescript is the most similar…..an “english language” type programming environment like Basic…..but like I said, I know a lot about this stuff, I just don’t just actually PROGRAM 8-).

I really need to take some time and learn. I can script in Unix (what I need to do) and I can do basic Applescript (not Applescript Studio like in Xcode).

It is just a shame there is no Paltalk client. If they would do it right, they could actually put hooks in the app to allow you to do all that normally you need to “hack” otherwise. Applescript is a great way to script programs to work together. You can talk to apps to do things, pass info back and forth, and even launch unix scripts from within Applescript.

And yes, I know Windows runs faster on a Mac than most other laptops…btw…you made sure to install Apple’s Windows drivers correct? If not, make sure you boot into windows (if using dual boot) and put in the DVD 1 that came with your computer….the drivers will install from there……Then run Apple Software Update to make sure you have the latest.

No offense to Loco…but I am always interested in seeing new Musicbots and features…please let me know if I can help test in any way.

nope…bot been working okay, I see the same error as Tooley now and then, but with memloader and paltalk it has been pretty stable…I have almost 9000 tunes in the bot now…takes a long time to generate song list template…but that okay, I dont add that often.

BTW, you can run paltalk on OSX by using WINE…or the commercial version called Crossover Mac, by the company Codeweavers who does the commercial version of W.I.N.E. For those that dont know…WINE started on Linux to run Windows programs without having Windows installed. Works very well for some programs….really is hit or miss. ALSO, get the Microsoft Remote Desktop program and keep a windows machine handy on your network…if you HAVE to do something in Windows….then just fire that up and remote your Windows machine, or Install VNC. I use VNC for my jukebox machine, since RDC kills the audio.

Also, get REAL BASIC for OSX, or download Xcode from Apple for programming environment…of course you can use Python or a number of other languages….

Yup loco….anything you need give me a hollar…..you can still run Windows on it if you want, either in Virtualization (VMware or Parallels) or partition your HD to have an actual Windows boot partition…then just boot back and forth….what I do for Pal 8-)….

the STOP! command is working great so far as I can tell.

    Thank you!

when ya not having fun or having women….let me know if you can do the playlist thing 😎

Hey loco…one thought…would it be possible to have 2 music lists….one being the master library that people can request from (has all tunes) and the second being a “favorites” list that is played from when there are no requests….

The reason I ask is my jukebox has a lot of wack shit that people do request..but I dont want it to play just randomly.

So If I could have a “playlist” that plays randomly when there are no requests, and yet, people can request from the full library….that would be great.

Well here is what would be nice…

when you issue the stop! command…the juke actually stops playing the song. Right now, if you issue stop! and look at the visualization, the songs are still playing, and it just skips to the next song. What I need to do is click quickly mulitple times on the STOP button to get it to finally stop playing.

When you issue the umic! command, of course it drops mic, but continues to “play” and post song titles in the room. Very annoying. So, it would be nice if you stop! that it does NOT post the name of the next song in the room, and the player actually stops.
